Texas Music Division Intern Job Description

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM: We are so excited to know that you are interested in the internship program with the Office of the Governor (OOG)! Our program is made up of the most passionate and driven students and recent graduates who are eager to make their mark on state government in Texas.

 Interns have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and have numerous opportunities to learn more about state government and the legislative process. This program gives students as well as recent graduates the opportunity to gain new skill sets while also building connections, both personally and professionally.

*Applicants not located in the Austin area are responsible for obtaining housing and or transportation*

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Interviewing Texas music business owners, developing business statements based on these interviews, inputting information into the TMO's databases using FileMaker and Microsoft Access; responding to information requests from industry professionals and the general public, and research Texas music. 

 

SKILLS REQUIRED: Basic office skills.

 EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Music industry knowledge or experience preferred.

 

Intern supervisors will be providing feedback to interns on a consistent basis to ensure the intern has a successful internship.

First set in reviewing applications deadline will be July 1, 2025.

The internship is a volunteer position and is NOT paid.

Shifts will be (8:00am-12:00pm) and (1:00pm-5:00pm)

Must be able to start September 3, 2025, fall Semester
