Job Description:
Reporting directly to the Administrative Assistant or Program Coordinator, the ACCEYSS Summer Camp Instructor is responsible for leading and supervising summer camp activities.
The ACCEYSS Network is a fiscally sponsored program of Power 2 Prosper Community Development Corporation, which is a Christ-centered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, headquartered in the Austin/Greater San Marcos region.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review ACCEYSS STEEAAM VBS or Horticulture curriculum and participate in training sessions prior to the camp’s start date.
- Prepare camp experiments and activities each morning at 7:30 a.m. and begin sessions at 8:00 a.m.
- Ensure the camp area is cleaned and ready for the next class each day.
- Monitor and manage inventory to ensure supplies are available for all classes.
- Administer pre- and post-program surveys to students to evaluate learning outcomes.
- Escort students to Dunbar Hall for lunch and oversee parent pickup @ 12:00 p.m.
- Lead and facilitate activities, providing hands-on assistance to students when required.
- Horticulture Program:
- Educate students on plant biology, gardening techniques, soil health, sustainability, and environmental conservation.
- Guide students in planting, harvesting, and maintaining gardens.
- Promote eco-friendly practices like composting and water conservation.
- Inspire students to explore careers in horticulture and agriculture.
- Ensure proper handling of tools and materials.
- Work with other instructors to integrate horticulture with STEM, arts, and entrepreneurship programs.
- STEEAAM VBS Program:
- Integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Arts, Agriculture, and Math into faith-based lessons.
- Facilitate hands-on experiments, creative projects, and interactive discussions that connect biblical teachings with real-world learning.
- Inspire curiosity, problem-solving, and innovation in students.
- Incorporate spiritual lessons alongside STEEAAM topics to reinforce values and encourage personal growth.
- Promote teamwork and leadership skills through group activities.

Preferred Qualifications:
● VBS Instructor - Experience serving as a VBS instructor, Sunday School teacher, or Youth Ministry volunteer.
● Horticulture Instructor - Background in produce, gardening or horticulture preferred.
Other Requirements:
● Complete background check and child protection training with either ACCEYSS or Agency Site.
● Submit W-9 and sign the IDC Agreement.
