Summer 2025 | Career Cat Student Worker

In this role, you will have the opportunity to help connect students to a variety of career resources and engage with employers from a variety of different industries. In addition, you will be surrounded by career professional staff who are committed to helping you explore your own career options and develop marketable skills towards your future profession. 

Required Qualifications 

  1. Career Associates must maintain 6 hours of coursework for the summer with at least a 2.5 overall GPA to qualify for the position.

Other Considerations 

  1. Must be motivated to work with other students.
  2. Must possess good written communication skills.
  3. Be available to work 8-10 hours per week.

Job Duties 

  1. Answer multi-line phones, take messages and transfer phone calls to appropriate staff members.
  2. Create appointments for TXST students and alumni seeking our services.
  3. Respond to FAQs through incoming emails and phone calls.
  4. Meet with TXST students and alumni to provide job application feedback, interview prep, handshake support, and part-time job search assistance on a drop-in basis in peer mentor fashion.
  5. Provide resume, cover letter, and statement of purpose critiques via email to TXST students and alumni in a timely manner.
  6. Work with Career Services staff to provide focused outreach to students/alumni.
  7. Other duties may include- tabling, social media and career closet assistance.
  8. Other Duties As Assigned

Payrate Determination: The pay rate is determined by the institution’s payrate for undergraduate student pay and is evaluated on an semesterly basis. University Pay Plan : Office of Human Resources : Texas State University (txst.edu)

Employee evaluation process: Evaluations are conducted on a semesterly basis.
