(Work-Study) Student Worker - Front Desk

Department: The Department of Health and Human Performance at Texas State University is one of the largest departments on campus. We are a busy front office with a large number of faculty and student body.

Job Summary: Our Front Desk Student Worker is a part-time position responsible for giving administrative support to the department staff and faculty. This would included assisting in various office duties, assisting other students, and working on various projects for the faculty and staff, etc. We are looking for someone who is punctual, has a great personality, is professional and can work between 12 - 20 hours a week.

Job Duties:

  • Answering telephone inquiries with professionalism
  • Assisting students, staff, and faculty with administrative tasks and information
  • Various administrative tasks including filing, printing, copies, inventory, errands, etc.
  • Restocking of office supplies in office, print room, and classrooms
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Work Schedule: The department operational hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. The student work schedule is made according to the student's class schedule and work-study award. 

Direct Supervisor: Jordyn Campbell

Employee Evaluation Process: Student employees are evaluated by their supervisor at the end of each long semester.

Payrate Determination: All student employees begin at the starting pay rate and may increase by .25 after two long semesters (fall and spring) of employment with a positive evaluation from their supervisor using the Student Employee Career Readiness Evaluation form.
