DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: The Texas State Math Department is hiring undergraduate students for Class Assistant position(s).
JOB SUMMARY: A Class Assistant is a part-time student worker position responsible for assisting instructors during assigned classes.
JOB DUTIES:
- Work closely with the course instructor, who will set your schedule, guidelines, and expectations.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information and sign a Confidentiality Agreement.
- Additional responsibilities may include:
- Grade student homework and quizzes accurately using provided instructor answer keys and rubrics with clear point allocations.
- May be required to attend (not enroll) assigned class.
- Assist with proctoring exams (with instructor present).
- Data Entry
- Leading study groups
- Assist with designated coursework.
Details:
- Maximum of 4-10 hours per course, per week.

DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Math Department
WORK SCHEDULE: Students who apply for this position are expected to be able to work no more than 4 - 10 hours/week for each assigned course.
EMPLOYEE EVALUATION PROCESS: Student employees will be evaluated by their supervisor at the end of Fall and Spring semesters.
PAYRATE DETERMINATION: All student employees begin at the starting pay rate and are employed for the semester only.
