DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: The Texas State Math Department is hiring undergraduate students for Paper Graders.
JOB SUMMARY: A paper grader us a part-time student worker position responsible for grading homework and quizzes in MATH courses.
JOB DUTIES:
- Grade student homework and quizzes accurately using provided instructor answer keys and rubrics with clear point allocations.
- Work closely with the course instructor, who will set your schedule, guidelines, and expectations.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information and sign a Confidentiality Agreement.
Details:
- Maximum of 27 hours per course, per semester.
- Work is limited to the semester's duration; no work is expected after the last day of classes.
- Graders will not create solution keys.
- Graders will not proctor or grade exams.
- Grader identity will remain anonymous to students.
- If a faculty or staff member finds your application a match for their needs, you will be contacted at your TXST email.
- Applicants may submit optional supporting documents, such as class schedules or unofficial transcripts.

DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Math Department
WORK SCHEDULE: Students who apply for this position are expected to be able to work no more than 27 hours per course.
EMPLOYEE EVALUATION PROCESS: Student employees will be evaluated by their supervisor at the end of the semester.
PAYRATE DETERMINATION: All student employees begin at the starting pay rate and are employed for the semester only.
