Student Worker- Summer 2025
The College of Education is looking for a friendly, responsible, and motivated student worker to provide customer service to students who contact the Academic Advising Center.
Work-study award required. Applicants who plan to stay and take summer courses at Texas State are especially preferred.
Our office is open Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm; ideal candidates would be available to work in shifts of at least 4 consecutive hours at a time (i.e., 10 am to 2 pm for example), at least several days a week and would be able to work across all semesters (Spring + Summer + Fall).

Job Summary: This role is a part-time student worker position responsible for answering phones and assisting students needing help from our advising staff. This role is ideal for students who enjoy interacting with others and want hands-on experience in a supportive academic environment.
Job Duties include:
- Answer phones, transfer calls, and relay messages
- Screen for and schedule advising appointments
- Greet and assist guests who walk into the lobby
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk space
- Work on additional projects as assigned
Qualifications include:
- Dependability in reporting to work on time and for assigned shifts
- Strong attention to detail while typing and navigating multiple computer screens
- Consistency in maintaining a positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and in writing

Work Schedule: Students in this position are expected to work between 12-15 hours per week.

Payrate Determination: All students begin at the starting pay rate of $12
