Student Worker - Spring 2025
A student worker position in the Department of Communication Studies will include general office responsibilities where you will gain valuable experience working on computers, speaking with prospective and current students, answering telephones, fulfilling copy and scan requests, and working closely with professional faculty and staff.
Job responsibilities include:
- Assist with answering telephones, faxing, running errands on campus, and making scans and copies
- Greet office guests, answer questions and direct to the proper individual(s)
- Data entry into Microsoft Excel spreadsheet
- Make suggestions on how to streamline a process or task that is manual
- Manage department computer lab
- Other administrative duties or special projects as assigned
Required qualifications:
- Experience preferred (or Team/Event Leader experience)
- Familiarity with office equipment
- Good computer skills
- Excellent communication skills and detail-oriented
- The ability to handle confidential matters and be professional
- Willingness to tackle new projects

Employee Evaluation Process: Student employees are evaluated by their supervisor at the end of each long semester.
Payrate Determination: All student employees begin at the starting pay rate and may increase by .50 after two long semesters (fall and spring) of employment with a positive evaluation from their supervisor using the Student Employee Career Readiness Evaluation form.
