LBJ Student Center Setup Crew

The LBJ Student Center Setup Crew are vital members of the Event Services team and are responsible for the setup and teardown of equipment for all events in, and managed by the LBJ Student Center, serving a wide range of clients in the building. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide the physical labor needed to accurately set up and tear down event spaces according to set-up worksheets and diagrams.
  • Work to ensure effective and efficient daily production of all events managed by the LBJ Student Center while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Assist with inventory, maintenance, and storage of Event Services equipment (tables, chairs, etc.)
  • Adherence to administrative policies and relay all pertinent information to the appropriate individual(s)
  • Assist with the appearance and cleanliness of public spaces and meeting rooms.
  • Occasionally provide physical labor needed to move furniture, packages, and miscellaneous items.
  • Attend regular staff development opportunities throughout the academic year, including Fall training (approximately two weeks prior to fall semester), and the mid-year training at the end of Winter Break.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must currently be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours
  • Must have a minimum 2.25 GPA at TXST to be eligible for employment
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Highly self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Prioritization of multiple tasks during a single shift
  • Ability to work in various team dynamics as well as independently
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service with building visitors

 

Starting Pay rate: $10                     Premium Pay rate: $14

* Pay raises are available each semester and leadership positions with supervisory responsibilities are available to students who master expectations and demonstrate excellent attendance and timeliness. *

 

The Setup Crew reports to the Crew Lead during shifts and is supervised by the Event Setups Coordinator. This position typically works 12–20 hours a week between 8 a.m. and 12 a.m. Monday through Sunday. Additional hours at premium pay are available to support large events or increased labor needs.
