Spring 2025 Work Study Administrative Assistant Business Office

The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment is currently seeking an undergraduate student who will be working closely with the business operations team and performing varied clerical and related tasks for the staff of The Meadows Center.

Qualifications

Applicant must have work-study.  A good applicant will be have excellent interpersonal skills including dependability, responsibility, motivation, time management, organization, excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow directions. Experience with basic software programs is required along with good general office skills (including typing/basic computer skills).

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to work 10-25 hours during the normal work week.
  • Must be dependable and able to self-motivate.
  • Must be an energetic self-starter who can also take direction.
  • Must have good people skills, show confidence, and enjoy working with others in this team-oriented friendly environment.
  • Texas State Parking Pass is required if you plan to drive to work.
  • Must have a reliable method of getting to work.

Job Duties

 Performs varied clerical and related tasks for the staff of The Meadows Center

  1. Reception duties to include greeting visitors, assisting them to their destination and receiving mail.
  2. Answering the phone and making calls on behalf of the department.
  3. Word processing, data entry, creating and updating records.
  4. Copying, scanning, filing, and sorting records.
  5. Compiling information as requested by the departmental supervisor.
  6. Checking and verifying work to maintain accuracy
  7. All other duties as assigned

Please note our location: http://www.meadowscenter.txstate.edu/About/Contact-Us.html. Students with a vehicle must have a Texas State parking permit to park in the Spring Lake Hall parking lots. Students without a vehicle must have a reliable method of getting to work.

Employee Evaluation Process

Employees will be evaluated on their work output and ethic. Employees will be required to attend all scheduled shifts unless prior communication has been made with their direct supervisor.  All employees are required to follow university policy and procedures.

 Pay Rate Determination

The pay rate of this position begins at $11.

This position is directly supervised by the Meadows Center's Office Administrator.
