Administrative Support Specialist
The Office of the Executive Vice President for Operations, CFO provides financial and auxiliary support to Texas State University. Our office helps to manage university budgets and operations including parking and transportation services, construction, UPD, HR, and other services. Candidates will be responsible for providing administrative and general clerical support to management / staff within the assigned FSS division, department, or unit.
Job Duties
- Answer Teams telephone, screen, and transfer calls, take messages and route to other offices as appropriate.
- Maintain a welcoming environment with exceptional customer service.
- Administrative duties as follows: Print, copy, scan, fax, bind documents, and prepare spreadsheets.
- Type and proofread correspondence, forms, envelopes, and labels.
- Pickup, stamp, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
- Monitor office supply inventory.
- Assist in the research, development, and administration of division activities and events.
- Filing and organizing FSS documents.
- Assist in keeping workspaces neat and clean.
- Ensure office equipment is properly stocked.
- Shredding.
- Errands/deliveries on campus.
- Perform related duties as assigned by FSS staff.
Availability
- Monday thru Friday
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Lunch coverage preferred
- Minimum 3-hour shifts
Qualifications
- Skills and experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, along with other Morcosoft Office Suite programs.
- Ability to read and interpret floor plans.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
Employee Evaluation Process: Student employees are evaluated by their supervisor at the end of each long semester.
Payrate Determination: All student employees begin at the starting pay rate and may increase by .25 after two long semesters (fall and spring) of employment with a positive evaluation from their supervisor using the Student Employee Career Readiness Evaluation form.
