Adult Mental Health Crisis Services Manager
General Description:
Reporting to the Access Service Director, the Crisis Services Manager assumes a pivotal role in overseeing administrative duties, managerial duties, and clinical supervision of Crisis Services programming. Additionally, the role involves coordinating with the psychiatric hotline, hospitals, jail, local law enforcement, dispatch, community partners, and Pathways respite to ensure continuity of care for consumers seeking mental health services through MHID. The Crisis Services Manager is tasked with auditing clinical files to maintain quality assurance and compliance with standards set by the Joint Commission, Medicaid, OPM, and HHSC. Additionally, the Crisis Services Manager collaborates closely with local law enforcement agencies and community partners to train, guide, and lead CIT services and community-based trainings and education. Furthermore, they are responsible for promoting crisis services within the community by engaging with stakeholders and leveraging available resources. Individual counseling or psychosocial rehabilitation services may also be provided as directed. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. Reliable transportation and availability for consultation after hours are prerequisites for this role.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimal requirements:
- Must hold a valid license as either a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT). This licensure must be continuously maintained and remain in good standing throughout the duration of employment.
- Minimum of one year's experience working with individuals dealing with severe mental illness(es).
- Proficiency in social and rehabilitative work.
- A valid Texas Driver's License, liability insurance, and a clean driving record.
Preferred requirements:
- Bilingual proficiency in both English and Spanish.
- Two years' experience working within an LMHA.
- Certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and/or Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).
- Knowledge of clinical supervision and management principles, along with familiarity with local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to the program area.
- Strong computer skills, including the ability to input data into electronic medical records systems and proficiency in using Microsoft Office products.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of mental illness, psychotropic medications, their uses, and typical side effects. Knowledge of mental Health Code and community resources.
- Ability to work cooperatively with a variety of professionals and non-professionals.
- Knowledge of assessment techniques, tools, and documentation requirements.
- Ability to prepare concise reports and communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses, psychological assessment, and treatment planning.
- Knowledge of individuals with mental illness.
- Good counseling skills.
- In the course of being employed, understands, and implements trauma informed care practices.
- Demonstration of the clinical competencies required by agency-approved, standardized training.
- Computer literate
- Ability to participate as a team member.
- Ability to identify difficulties with coping in community settings.
- Knowledge of client care techniques, and of treatment, therapy and of developmental programs.
