Job Summary

As an Internship Development Professional (IDP) in the Cement Talent Tower at CEMEX USA, you'll engage in a 10-week hands-on program focused on Cement Manufacturing, Process Improvements, Quality and Reliability, Equipment Maintenance, and Data Management. You'll gain practical experience through rotations and projects, while collaborating and networking across CEMEX’s business lines.

Job Responsibilities

  • Capable of working outdoors 80% of the time.
  • Hands-on experience through practical, project-based work.
  • Lead and adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and/or MSHA rules and regulations.
  • Meet or exceed company safety standards, be an advocate for safety.
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Actively pursuing and have achieved junior year status in one of the following bachelor's degrees:
  • Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic/Manufacturing Engineering, Mining/Materials Science Engineering or similar majors.
  • GPA of 2.5 and above (3.0 preferred).
  • 2 years of relevant experience (heavy or manufacturing industry is preferred), including placements, co-op, internships, or university projects.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a proactive approach to taking on new challenges.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Team-oriented.
  • Self-Initiative.

Working Conditions

  • Exposure to environmental conditions including heat, cold, noise, and working outdoors.
  • Must wear protective equipment while at the location.
  • Requires stationary position, traverse, move, transport, and the ability to significant degree to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, or position.
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment.
  • Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors
