The Texas State University Performing Arts Center is hiring for a Work Study position to work as an Event Coordinator for Fall 2024.  **This position is based on events scheduled throughout the semester; work performed will not be a set schedule each week. 

Description:

·      Work as an onsite venue liaison and/or stage manager for performances and events in the Performing Arts Center.  

Duties:

·      Management of the event (to include opening/closing the building, rehearsals, tech, performances, special events, etc)

·      Good communication skills

·      Day of coordination with the artist/group

·      Basic stage setup/breakdown as per clients’ needs

·      Run lighting, sound, and projection cues (when applicable)

·      Audio record performances (when applicable)

·      Complete production reports at the end of performance/event

Qualifications:

·      Interpersonal skills necessary for communication with artist/group

·      Attention to detail 

·      Quick problem-solving skills

·      Self-motivated and able to work independently

·      Physical ability to lift 50lbs

·      Willing to work some evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

·      Basic knowledge of stage management

·      Basic knowledge of technical theatre (lighting, audio, projection)

·      Computer skill related to lighting and sound systems 

·      Physical ability to lift 50lbs

·      Familiarity with musical performances
