Program Intern

Program Internship

Job Type: Intern (10-15 hours per week)

Compensation: $1000 stipend upon completion (college credit – optional)

*Location: 1023 Springdale Rd, Building 2C, Austin, TX 78721 

Must be based in Austin, TX

Looking for student available Monday through Friday (flexible on which days) 3pm to 6pm. 

Internship Description

Latinitas is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering all girls and nonbinary to innovate through media and technology. We publish LatinitasMagazine.org and deliver a weekly after-school “Club Latinitas” program, summer camps, workshops, seasonal Chica Conferences and certification programs in coding for girls ages 9 - 18.

Become a Program Intern at Latinitas and help execute our mission, programs and special events. Your responsibility would be to assist the programs team including Program Manager, Coordinator and Leaders in tracking, organizing and successfully delivering programs (both in person and virtual) to our intended audiences. The Program intern will have a unique opportunity to learn about nonprofit management through hands-on activities and exposure to a wide range of events and projects.

Intern will work directly with all full-time staff for project needs and will use tools such as Google Drive, Gmail, Slack and Trello to help with organization of tasks. This position will require biweekly check-ins with the Program Manager to review progress of assigned projects and will also require a mid and end of semester evaluation.

Duties Include:

  • Assist Program team with organization and delivery of programs including, but not limited to: Club Latinitas after school program, seasonal one day Chica Conferences, Latinitas Summer Camps, Code Chica and Media Chica Certification programs and Digital Parents adult computer literacy program.  
  • Assist program coordinators and leaders in the delivery of after school STEM based curriculum to select East and South Austin schools
  • Consolidate and organize data from pre and post surveys submitted by students

Intern Requirements

  • This position requires connecting and interacting with our participants ages 9- 14 by assisting Programs Team
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English)
  • Intern should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be enthusiastic, organized, resourceful, and creative.
  • Have an interest in nonprofit development, operations or management.
