The Summer Undergraduate Internship Program with the City of Round Rock is designed to provide an on-the-job opportunity to gain "real world" work experience in a career-related professional workforce environment.
Examples of Duties
- Assists with our Community Maps Program, Lease Agreement Digitization Project, QA/QC of Geodata project and other various projects/requests.
- Provides entry-level GIS assistance on a variety of geospatial projects.
- Assists with content curation and management.
- Assists with data collection, compilation and data analysis.
- Produces maps and other geospatial representations of data for public use and field work activity.
- Records and documents details of metadata updates.
Experience and Training
Undergraduate Intern
- Be enrolled full-time or a recent graduate of an accredited university or college
- Must be classified as an Undergrad student and provide an unofficial transcript and resume
- Must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0
Graduate Intern
- Be enrolled full-time or a recent graduate of an accredited university or college
- Must be classified as a Graduate student and provide an unofficial transcript and resume
- Must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0
Certificates and Licenses Required
Preferred skills:
- Familiarity with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
- Knowledge of GIS concepts and practices
- Experience with cartography and creation of geospatial visualizations
