2024 Fall McCoy's Internship

SUMMARY 

This paid intern position will provide practical experience related to your academic field of study, offering authentic experience in a job role while providing insight to a career path, its duties, and daily operations. You will gain valuable business-related experiences with a focus on learning the different day-to-day responsibilities of the assigned department with an emphasis on professional/personal development. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Attends and participates in department team meetings and training sessions as needed or requested.
  • Observe, question, and support department employees working on active business functions and resolving issues.
  • Perform research and present findings on any assigned department projects to management team members.
  • May occasionally assist with minor daily operations, such as administrative functions or short-duration special assignments of the assigned department.
  • Comply with company employment standards and policies

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Must be for academic credit or required as part of a degree program
  • In general, interns must complete a minimum of 200 hours of work during the academic semester
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.  Ability to effectively communicate in a second language in some regions of the company
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 

 

WORK AVAILABILITY

  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined by management
  • Must be regularly available and willing to work at least 3 hours per shift, 8 to 20 hours per week or such other hours per day or hours per week as required to meet the University’s program requirements during the enrolled Semester, and as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs
  • Must be available and willing to work such overtime per day or per week as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet business needs
