Classroom Assistant - Early Learning Readiness

How you Will Power our Purpose (Job Summary)  

We are looking to hire a Classroom Assistant specializing in early childhood learning to work directly with our sites' caregivers and children. The Early Learning Readiness (ELR) programs are designed to help adult caregivers (moms, dads, grandparents, neighbors, nannies, etc.) and the children for whom they care.  Program sessions last 15 weeks, where participants meet twice weekly and are offered late August through December (Fall) and January through May (Spring). 

We're looking for candidates to work on Tuesday & Thursday from 8:30am-11:30am.

How You Will Make an Impact (Essential Functions)  

  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with parents and children.
  • Monitors for engagement in activities and redirects as needed.
  • Encourages children’s emotional, social, and physical development, and positive self-concept.
  • Maintains current knowledge developments, and best practices in early childhood education. 
  • Follows the lesson plans put in place which include educational and recreational activities
  • Support parents' engagement in activities and encourages their development in child lead play and conscious discipline model of the program.
  • Supports lead teacher in preparing weekly activities and materials
  • Cleans and sanitizes toys, furniture, and play equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Community Enterprise  

  • You are a minimum of 18-years of age and have a high school diploma.
  • You have child care experience, especially infant & early childhood (preferred).
  • You must be bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • You have experience or feel comfortable in facilitating curriculum to a group. 
  • You are a team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude and you can work well with others.with others. 
  • You are organized, able to prioritize tasks, and handle multiple assignments.
  • You listen for understanding and meaning. You speak and write effectively.
  • You leverage people’s differences as strengths.
