(9999) Case Manager Intern/ QMHP-CS *Internship*

Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Director or designee, the Case Manager Intern provides case management and community living supports to children and youth ages 3-18 with significant mental illnesses, their parent/Legal Authorized Representative (LAR), and family members. When serving as a Case Manager this position updates demographic data, provides uniform assessments required by the state authority and the Center, collaborates with individuals served and their parent/LAR to develop wraparound/recovery plans, and documents services delivered in accordance with individual need and Medicaid standards.
This position requires knowledge and skills in assessment, treatment planning, collaborative documentation, as well as wellness and recovery-oriented systems of care.
Case Manager Interns facilitate skills training to increase the child’s independence. This can include skills related to activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene, household chores, and socialization may be included, if these skills are identified within the youth’s wraparound/recovery plan.
The person in this position must possess a passion and aptitude for working with youth who have severe emotional needs. Willingness to learn about psychotherapeutic medications, case management functions, substance use treatment, crisis services, community resources, and evidence-based practices in the behavioral health field is critical for success in this internship. This internship necessitates innovative thinking, patience, resiliency, skills in advocacy, service coordination, mental health assessment and evaluation, collaborative person-centered recovery planning and dual-diagnosis treatment.
Location: Williamson, Bastrop, Fayette, Lee, Burnet, Guadalupe, Caldwell, Gonzales
Salary: $10.30/hr
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in human services field; comprehensive knowledge of mental health diagnoses. Ability to work as a member of a team within a fast-paced, treatment setting is essential to this position. Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain approved driver’s status throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual/Spanish-speaking; experience in providing concurrent documentation within an electronic database preferred.
