Campus Recruiting Coordinator Internship
This opportunity for is for students who are looking to pursue a career in HR, Management, or looking to work 1:1 with individuals. We provide this opportunity for individuals who are looking to enhance their communication skills, desire to have more professional training on communication, interviewing, and management. If you are a student looking for an internship that could potentially lead to a full-time opportunity as a campus recruiter or within another role at Northwestern Mutual, this is a great transition to begin with. An individual who will do well with our team is quickly able to build high-level quality relationships in the community and on college campuses. The individual must have exceptional communication skills and is organized and persistent. Someone who is looking to challenge themselves, is a team player, and has a desire to make an impact in someone’s life is a must.
Qualifications:
· Current student at local university who can be on campus to promote Northwestern Mutual.
· Strong communication skills required with the ability to build rapport and influence others.
· Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities.
· Ability to evaluate, be perceptive, and make decisions regarding the ethical and personal character of individuals, as well as maintain confidentiality.
· Self-starter with high motivation.
Primary Responsibilities & Areas of Mentorship:
Sourcing:
· Build & Development on campus relationships (Professors, Faculty, Coaches, and Students)
· Participate in on campus & virtual career fairs
· Lead presentations on campus to share about the internship/career opportunity
· Determine and schedule on-campus recruiting opportunities
· Actively participate in on-campus clubs and organizations to promote the Northwestern Mutual brand
Selection:
· Review resumes and schedule initial interviews
· Observe and lead initial interviews after training
· Communicate effectively about our internship, the financial advising career, and who we are at Northwestern Mutual
Accountability, Tracking, and Development:
· Report weekly on campus recruiting activity to team members
· May include oversight of contracting and licensing requirements
· Role Play presentations & interviewing skills for initial interviews
· Utilize development resources from Home Office on building communication skills & relationships with candidates
