Marketing Assistant | Spring 2022 Work Study

Description
The Marketing Assistant will support the Digital Communications Manager with content production, calendaring, and community management for the Alumni Association’s various digital channels. The Marketing Assistant will make content recommendations and produce copy for web, print, mass emails, social media, and other digital channels, as well as occasional video script writing. Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Write content for various university communication channels (TXST Newsroom, social media, magazine, e-newsletters, etc.)
  • Research background information for content and fact-checking
  • Interview alumni, students, faculty and staff upon request regarding content
  • Take photos/videos of personnel, events or university programs upon request
  • Track alumni media mentions and alumni engagement metrics
  • Assist with tracking and analyzing data to deliver better results and increase reach
  • Assist with promotion and execution of alumni events
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Must be currently enrolled at Texas State with a minimum overall GPA of 2.5
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, pressured environment and meet deadlines
  • Ability to develop topics and programs into effective storytelling
  • Knowledge of social media standards and best practices
  • Skilled written communicator with excellent use of grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Must maintain enrollment in at least 6 semester credit hours
  • Work study-eligible preferred, but not required

Schedule
The Marketing Assistant will work no more than ten hours per week. We are hiring for the Spring 2022 semester and are looking for a candidate who can begin working as soon as possible. The position will be reviewed and renewed on a semester-to-semester basis. The Marketing Assistant may be required to work occasional evenings and weekends, but has flexible hours to work with your school schedule and competitive pay.
