Spring Lake Diving Assistant | Spring 2022 Work Study

Job Description
Spring Lake Diving is responsible for protecting and preserving Spring Lake's abundant natural, historical, and cultural resources through scuba diving. We facilitate numerous research projects and actively manage habitat for the threatened and endangered species that are endemic to Spring Lake. The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment is looking for an assistant to support the Dive Coordinator with these activities and daily clerical tasks. More information about our program can be found here.

Duties
This position will focus on creating and maintaining viable habitat for the threatened and endangered species in Spring Lake through scuba diving in support of the Edwards Aquifer Habitat Conservation Plan. The position will also ensure the dive locker is upkept, dive equipment is in working order, and a variety of clerical tasks that include but are not limited to answering the phone, emails, copying, scanning, data entry, records management, and official errands. 

Required Qualifications
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, time management, communication, and self-motivation. Basic computer literacy with experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications
SCUBA certification, Boater Education, PSI/PCI Cylinder Inspector, experience with customer service, enjoy working with others, comfortability in public speaking. 

Schedule
Flexible hours throughout the week, Monday through Friday, 9am - 5pm (12-20 hours per week).  

Please note our location. This position requires self-provided transportation to and from work. Applicants with a vehicle must have a valid Texas State parking permit. Applicants without a vehicle must have reliable means of transportation.
