Alkek Library Facilities | Spring 2022 Work Study

As Alkek Library Facilities student worker role & responsibilities are as follow:

 Check for spills and trash and damages.

 Straighten furniture on the floors.

 Check public lounge and clean microwaves/ PM(Preventative Maintenance)dishwasher.

 Check Daily/Weekly/ Monthly PM following duties:

·        Remove cardboard recycling bins.

·        Clean breezeway/pick trash/ wipe dust mop TX State emblem.

·        Conduct walk-thru of all floors reporting discrepancies of lights/

·        furniture, study rooms cleanness, study pods or other important

·        deficiencies in the building.

·        Sweep mailroom entry, north & south loading docks.

·        Clean banister and handrails of grand stairwell.

·        7th. 6th, & 5th floor study rooms clean, checking lighting, and semi

·        annually paint rooms.

·        Review classified boards for unauthorized poster's daily. 

·        Pandemic changes:

o  PM Daily check operations and refill of all Sanitizer dispensers throughout library.

o  PM Daily distribute TX State Hand Sanitizer Spray bottles at each elevator lobby.

o  PM Daily disinfectant high touch surfaces as needed.

 Assignments from supervisor of plan of day to facilitate or complete. (i.e. special projects, renovations, assist other departments, make repairs as needed).

 Review, process and complete Facilities Maintenance/Custodial Requests

 in timely manner.

 Review, process and complete to do list/unexpected/ emergency work list

 in timely manner.

Mechanically inclined, familiar with tools and tool safety, portable power tools.
