School Field Trip Guide | Spring 2022 Work Study
Job Duties:
We are looking for hardworking, outgoing individuals that are interested in educating people about the environment and the local history of our area. Our tours are onsite and virtual.
On site
- You will lead tour groups of 10-30 participants around the park interpreting various environmental and historical subjects concerning the area. You will be working with various age groups Pre-K through Senior Citizens. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) leading tour groups, customer service, setup/cleanup of tour supplies, and taking out the trash.
Off site
- You will help create virtual programming for our website, social media, and for groups that are unable to attend programming on site.
Required Qualifications: All Applicants Must Meet the Following Qualifications.
- Must have a minimum of 2 weekday mornings available from at least 9:30-12:30 (preferably 8:30-1)
- Must have been awarded work-study.
- Must have great customer service skills and a positive attitude.
- Must be comfortable working with children.
- Must be comfortable working around water.
- Texas State Parking Pass required if you plan to drive to work
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: Education, Working with Children, Public Speaking, Biology, Geography, Texas History, Archaeology, Recreation, Lifeguarding, or related field.
- Bilingual individuals that speak Spanish are highly encouraged to apply.
- Must MAINTAIN enrollment in at least 6 semester credit hours to qualify.
Applicants with previous experience as a tour guide, teacher, and/or vast knowledge about the San Marcos River/species may be eligible to start at a higher pay grade. Please include this experience/knowledge on your resume.
