Kumon Early Learner Assistant
Kumon of Circle C, Austin, TX (an after-school Math & Reading enrichment program) is looking for an entry level, part-time center assistant/graders. We are looking for honest, reliable candidates who enjoy working with children from Pre-K to high school. The ideal candidate will be detailed-oriented, dependable, highly motivated, patient, caring, very enthusiastic, and ready to start ASAP!
Salary: $18+ / hour and 10-30 hours/week
We will increase the salary after the first 2 months based on performance and will continue to do so from there.
The responsibilities include:
- Observation and instruction of classroom in conjunction with the instructor.
- Promotion of a quiet classroom setting and orderly environment.
- Provides feedback to the instructor regarding observations of students.
- Work, engage and motivate early learners
- Grade worksheets using answer books.
- Handle administrative tasks relating to the Center operation as needed.
- Work effectively and cooperatively.
- Able to multitask in a demanding environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- K - 8 Math Skills preferable, more is a bonus (not required)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build and nurture strong relationships.
- Demonstrated experience working with students and children preferred (but not required).
- Strong tact and diplomacy; interacts and works cooperatively with children, parents, and staff.
- Ability to prioritize; organize and plan work under own initiative.
- Highly organized; ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments and projects.
- Work independently with moderate supervision. Flexible/adaptable to constant change.
