Career Associate | Fall 2021 Work Study

Our Career Associates are the face of Career Services- each day, you will be part of providing outstanding service and creating a positive user experience. In this role, you will have the opportunity to help connect students to a variety of career resources and engage with employers from a variety of different industries. In addition, you will be surrounded by career professional staff who are committed to helping you explore your own career options and develop marketable skills towards your future profession. 

Required Qualifications 
  1. Career Associates must maintain 6 hours of coursework each semester with at least a 2.5 overall GPA to qualify for the position.  

Other Considerations 
  1. Must be motivated to work with other students.  
  2. Must possess good written communication skills. 
  3. Successful job performance may lead to continuation of employment during the spring.

Job Duties 
  1. Answer multi-line phones, take messages and transfer phone calls to appropriate staff members. 
  2. Create appointments for TXST students and alumni seeking our services. 
  3. Respond to FAQs through incoming emails and phone calls.
  4. Meet with TXST students and alumni to provide job application feedback, interview prep, Jobs4Cats support, and part-time job search assistance on a drop-in basis.  
  5. Provide resume, cover letter, and statement of purpose critiques via email to TXST students and alumni in a timely manner. 
  6. Work with Career Services staff to provide focused outreach to students/alumni.
