Social Media Assistant | Summer 2021 Work Study

The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment – a leader in domestic and international conservation – is currently seeking a graduate- or undergraduate intern. S/he will work closely with the communications team to develop engaging social media strategies that help tell our story.

The Meadows Center’s communication team is looking for a versatile, motivated individual with strong all-around communication skills, a great creative eye and an enthusiasm to learn. As the social media intern, you will play an important role in sharing our story and the story of water in Texas.

Job Duties: Duties include, but are not limited to:
·        Maintain and monitor daily activity on social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
·        Develop and execute all social media initiatives and strategies
·        Monitor online brand presence 
·        Other related duties.

COVID-19 Note: In the occurrence of the operations closing down due to COVID-19, employees will be given the opportunity to work on different tasks that help further the mission of the Meadows Center. Applicants should have the ability to work productively from home if needed. All employees will be required to follow the Employee Roadmap for Return.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
·        Knowledgeable in AP Style
·        Experience with social media (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram)
·        Be an energetic self-starter who can take direction.
·        Works well in a fast-paced environment
·        Interest in spending time outside, on rivers, etc.
·        Bonus points for: experience in Adobe Suite and Photography

Hours: 10 - 15 hours per week; flexible hours
Pay: Must have work study
