Teaching Assistant | Summer 2022 Temporary Position

The Child Development Center at Texas State is looking for some great student workers to serve in the following capacities:

Teaching Assistants. TAs work collaboratively with Child Development Center  Teachers to maintain a safe and positive educational environment for all children and families. These TAs should like working with small groups of children. Duties will also include escorting children to and from swimming lessons at the Rec. We are looking for 12 full time and 5 part-time TAs at this time. The CDC will provide effective PPE for all employees.

 

We seek applicants with some experience (paid or voluntary) with young children. We seek those enrolled in a course of study related to child development, education, families, etc. We will consider candidates outside this course of study if they have previous childcare experience. All part-time staff must be available to work at least 15-20 hours per week with consistent blocks of time available during our hours of operation (7:30am-5:30pm). Full-time staff would work 8hours a day during that same period of time.

 

Kitchen Aide. Applicants must be available to work 8-2pm. Kitchen or nutrition experience is a plus. This person would help prepare snacks and breakfast for CDC children. The CDC will provide effective PPE for all employees.

Due to the population we serve, teaching assistants must be fully vaccinated.

This position will be grant funded. Starting salary for full time summer teaching assistants will be $13.00/hr. The hourly wage will be reduced at the end of the summer.
