Professional Development Trainer
Maybe you teach in Round Rock and already run your campus's new-teacher meetings, or you're a principal in Pflugerville who just retired. If you live around Austin and know classroom management, this could fit. For more than 30 years we've trained educators, over 400,000 of them, in every state in the country.
Professional development trainers lead training days on classroom management for K-12 schools, in person or by video. You'd present, answer teachers' questions, and help the strategies stick. No territories means you can train in person near Austin or virtually for schools anywhere.
The people we want are current or former K-12 teachers, principals, counselors, coaches, and other educators. Preferred: a bachelor's degree. The majority of trainers are working teachers and administrators. They train evenings, weekends, personal days, and summers.
As a 1099 independent contractor, you won't have guaranteed hours, and the number of trainings varies. Trainers typically make $1,000 or more for a training day, with pay on Fridays. Most trainings start with you contacting a school, using the outreach approach covered in certification. Contracts and negotiations are handled by your National Director.
Before training any school, you'd finish the virtual Weekend Certification, 36 hours over three days and two weekends. The package includes orientation, training materials, and support after you're certified. Certification has tuition, and you can use sponsorship or pay it over time. The certification is eligible for 4 graduate credits via UMass Global. Students may apply when they plan to complete the certification.
