Prep Academy Tutors North Austin is seeking enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and dependable individuals to join our growing team of academic tutors and enrichment instructors.
We provide personalized, one-on-one academic instruction to students from Pre-K through 12th grade, helping them strengthen foundational skills, build confidence, improve academic performance, and develop lifelong learning strategies.
All academic subjects, grade levels, and specialties are welcome! Whether you're an aspiring educator, college student, recent graduate, certified teacher, or subject-matter expert, we'd love to hear from you.
Tutoring Opportunities
We are recruiting individuals with knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas:
Early Childhood & Elementary Education
- Pre-K and kindergarten readiness
- Early literacy, phonics, reading, and writing
- Elementary mathematics and foundational academic skills
- Homework support and academic enrichment
Middle & High School Academics
- Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Precalculus, and Calculus
- English Language Arts, literature, reading comprehension, and writing
- Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and general sciences
- History, Social Studies, and World Languages
- AP, Honors, and advanced coursework
College Readiness & Test Preparation
- PSAT, SAT, and ACT preparation
- Standardized test-taking strategies
- STAAR preparation
- College readiness and academic planning
Academic Skills & Specialized Instruction
- Executive functioning, organization, and time management
- Study habits, note-taking, and test-taking strategies
- Academic confidence and independent learning skills
- STEM enrichment, robotics, coding, and hands-on educational programs
- Specialty subjects and enrichment courses
Tutors are matched with students based on their qualifications, subject expertise, availability, and geographic preferences. You are not expected to teach every subject or grade level.
What You'll Do
- Provide personalized, engaging academic instruction to students in your areas of expertise.
- Adapt teaching methods to each student's learning style, academic needs, and goals.
- Reinforce classroom instruction and support measurable academic progress.
- Help students build confidence, critical thinking skills, and effective study habits.
- Communicate professionally with students, families, and the Prep Academy Tutors team.
- Maintain accurate lesson records and provide timely session updates.
- Create a positive, encouraging, and supportive learning environment.
Who We're Looking For
We welcome applicants from a variety of educational and professional backgrounds, including:
- College and university students pursuing degrees in education, mathematics, sciences, English, psychology, or related disciplines
- Recent college graduates
- Certified teachers and retired educators
- Experienced tutors and teaching assistants
- STEM professionals and subject-matter specialists
- Individuals with demonstrated academic strengths and experience working with children or adolescents
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of one or more academic subjects
- Prior tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or youth development experience
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Patience, professionalism, and a genuine passion for education
- Ability to tailor instruction to individual learning needs
- Reliable transportation and willingness to provide in-person instruction
- Ability to successfully complete required background screening
Teaching certification is valued but is not required for every tutoring opportunity.

Assignments are coordinated based on student needs, tutor qualifications, scheduling compatibility, and location. Hours are not guaranteed.
