Fall 2026 | Student Worker, Donor Relations- Work Study

Position Summary 

The Donor Relations Student Assistant supports donor stewardship and administrative operations within University Advancement. This position performs varied clerical and support tasks for the staff of the Office of Donor Relations. This is an excellent opportunity for a student looking to gain experience for a career in the following areas: fundraising and development, event management, marketing and communication, public relations, office administration, executive support. Students will have opportunities to collaborate with multiple University Advancement teams and support donor engagement initiatives and events. 

 

Students should know that work produced by this team can be seen and used by top University leadership. This position requires light lifting and some walking to deliver documents and take photos of buildings on campus. Training will be provided. Due to the nature of donor and financial information, a confidentiality agreement is required. 

 

Pay Rate: $12.00/hour 

Minimum Commitment: 10 hours per week 

Responsibilities 

  • Spreadsheet work in Excel, data entry, and updating records in the department database
  • Photographing rooms and buildings around campus
  • Copying, scanning, filing, and shredding
  • Printing, folding, stuffing letters, and addressing envelopes
  • Name verification, printing, and assembling nametags for events
  • Proofreading documents
  • Collecting and delivering materials to on campus offices
  • Staffing divisional events in-person
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications 

 

  • Current Texas State University work-study student. 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly. 
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). 
  • Dependable, professional, and willing to learn. 
  • Open to cross-training for other areas
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-performing environment
  • Positive attitude and willingness to challenge yourself and work in a team environment

Location & Schedule 

Location: J.C. Kellam Administration Building, 601 University Drive, San Marcos, TX 

 

Schedule: Minimum 10 hours per week. Preferred availability Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be available based on departmental needs and student availability.
