Shaggy Dog Market – Buda & Kyle, TX 

Part-Time | 15–25 hours per week Shaggy Dog Market is a locally owned independent pet supply store serving the Buda and Kyle communities. We're looking for friendly, dependable, hardworking people to join our team as Part-Time Sales Associates. This is a great position for a Texas State student looking for a consistent part-time job in a fun, casual environment. We're a small business, so every team member plays an important role in taking care of our customers, their pets, and our stores. 

What You'll Do

• Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service
• Assist customers with pet food, treats, toys, supplements, and other products
• Learn about the products we carry so you can make helpful recommendations
• Operate the point-of-sale system and handle customer transactions
• Receive, stock, and organize merchandise
• Keep shelves stocked and displays neat and organized
• Help maintain a clean, welcoming store
• Assist customers using our self-service dog wash
• Clean and maintain the dog wash area between customers
• Help with general store duties as needed

What We're Looking For

You don't need to be a pet nutrition expert—we can teach you about our products. We're primarily looking for someone who:

• Is friendly, outgoing, and comfortable talking with customers
• Is dependable and shows up on time
• Takes initiative and sees what needs to be done
• Works well independently and as part of a small team
• Is willing to learn about pet foods, nutrition, and the products we sell
• Is comfortable around dogs of all sizes
• Is willing to clean, stock merchandise, and pitch in wherever needed
• Can safely lift and carry bags of pet food and merchandise weighing up to approximately 40–50 lbs.

Retail or customer-service experience is helpful, but not required. A positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn are more important to us. 

Schedule 

Approximately 15–25 hours per week. We understand that college students have class schedules and will work with school availability when possible. Afternoon, evening, and weekend availability is especially important.
