Role Description The PT Technician is a part-time, on-site role based in South Austin, TX. This position supports physical therapists in the delivery of patient care by preparing treatment areas, assisting with therapeutic exercises, and helping patients follow prescribed rehabilitation programs. Daily tasks include setting up and cleaning equipment, monitoring patients during exercises, and ensuring a safe, organized clinical environment. The PT Technician also assists with patient flow, provides clear instructions and encouragement, and collaborates with clinical staff to maintain high-quality, efficient care for individuals recovering from sports and activity-related injuries.
Qualifications
- Ability to assist with therapeutic exercises, follow PT directions, and support safe use of rehabilitation equipment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact professionally with patients, clinicians, and support staff.
- Attention to detail and reliability in maintaining clean, organized treatment areas.
- Commitment to patient safety, including adherence to infection control, clinic policies, and therapist instructions.
- Prior experience in a physical therapy, sports medicine, or athletic training setting is preferred but not a must.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or certification in physical therapy support, exercise science, or related fields is beneficial.
- Ability to stand, move, and lift light to moderate weights throughout the workday as part of patient care and clinic support.
Available hours needed: Mondays 12pm-5pm, Tuesday 8am-2pm, Wednesday 12pm-5pm
