STEM & Test Prep Tutor (Virtual & In-Person)

Responsibilities
- Provide engaging one-on-one tutoring in STEM subjects and standardized test preparation.
- Deliver personalized instruction virtually, with occasional in-person opportunities based on student location and tutor availability.
- Adapt lessons to each student’s learning style, academic background, and goals.
- Clearly explain challenging concepts while encouraging critical thinking and independent problem solving.
- Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and effective communication with students and families.
- Submit brief session summaries following each tutoring session.
Qualifications
Required
- Current undergraduate, graduate, or professional student, or recent graduate.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.7.
- A or A- earned in the subject(s) you wish to tutor.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Passion for teaching, mentorship, and helping students succeed.
- Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
Preferred
- Previous tutoring, teaching assistant, mentoring, or academic coaching experience.
- Attendance at a highly selective college or university.
- Strong standardized test scores (SAT, ACT, MCAT, GRE, etc., when applicable).
- Leadership experience within academic or student organizations.
Compensation
Competitive hourly compensation ranging from $30–$50/hour, determined by academic credentials, teaching experience, subject expertise, and interview performance.
