About the Position

The Undergraduate Instructional Assistant (UIA) provides academic support to faculty, with the primary responsibility of assisting in the grading of assignments, exams, and lab reports. This position offers students an opportunity to strengthen their understanding of course content while supporting the instructional process.

Responsibilities

Grade homework, quizzes, exams, and/or lab reports in a fair, consistent, and timely manner.

Record and organize grades accurately as directed by the instructor.

Maintain confidentiality of student records in compliance with FERPA.

Communicate regularly with the instructor regarding grading progress or issues.

Provide occasional assistance with other course-related tasks, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Current undergraduate student at Texas State University.

Enrollment in TECH, CIM, CSM, or a related discipline.

Attention to detail, reliability, and ability to follow grading rubrics.
