Summer 2026 | Student Office Worker
The Computer Science Department is now accepting applications for a Student Office Worker position for Summer I and Summer II, with the possibility of continued employment into the fall semester and beyond––position is also Work-Study eligible!
This role is ideal for students looking to gain professional experience in both administrative support and digital communications within an academic setting.
Position Responsibilities include:
- Performing general office duties such as answering phones, responding to emails, and assisting visitors
- Answering incoming calls, transferring calls to appropriate faculty/staff, and taking messages as needed
- Greeting and assisting guests in a professional and welcoming manner
- Printing and organizing documents for faculty and departmental needs
- Filing, data entry, and maintaining organized records
- Assisting with scheduling and basic clerical support tasks
- Supporting faculty and staff with day-to-day administrative needs
Social Media & Communications Responsibilities:
- Assisting in managing departmental social media accounts
- Creating and posting content to promote events, announcements, and initiatives
- Highlighting faculty and student achievements (awards, research, milestones)
- Showcasing Computer Science department activities and programs
- Helping maintain a consistent and professional online presence
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with design tools such as Canva
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks
- Experience with social media platforms and content creation is a plus
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be enrolled during the summer term
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Ability to provide at least TWO references (academic, professional, athletic, or extracurricular)
- Proof of summer registration is required
