Academic Success Technical Support Graduate Assistant
Academic Success is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Assistant to join our team to assist with providing technical support to the personnel in this area. The position provides quality technical duties to the leadership teams, staff, students, and guests to ensure all receive exemplary customer service and technical support in a timely manner. This position will be hired for summer 2026 - spring 2027. Continued employment after spring 2027 through summer 2028 is contingent upon positive performance reviews each semester of employment, available budget, and eligibility per the Graduate College's employment requirements. Job Duties
- Troubleshoot and repair hardware and software.
- Install and upgrade network cards, software, and equipment.
- Train users on equipment and software.
- Assist in maintaining web server and other automation issues.
- Assist in maintaining, monitoring, and tracking all asset and non-asset inventory including, but not limited to, hardware, software, and licensing information.
- Perform preventative and/or ITAC required maintenance to ensure optimal performance and protection from virus' on computers.
- Create, edit, and maintain internal tech instructional documents.
- Provide clear written and verbal instructions and post-work follow-up communications.
- Conduct data analytic tasks on occasion.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Unconditional acceptance to and enrollment in a graduate degree program at Texas State University.
- Enrollment in a minimum of nine (9) credit hours of graduate-level coursework during the fall and spring semesters.
- Be in good academic standing at Texas State University and maintain a GPA of 3.0 throughout all employed semesters.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent computer hardware skills on both PC's and Mac’s.
- Excellent computer software skills (e.g., word processing, DBMS, and spreadsheets on micro and/or main frame).
- Ability to work independently and with small groups as appropriate.
- Ability to prioritize workload, problem solving, and troubleshoot technical problems.
- Ability to understand and explain complex technical manuals, written instructions, and policies and procedures.
- Ability to adhere to applicable laws and policies, including maintain an appropriate degree of confidentiality.
- Analytical and logic thought processes, analysis tools, basic math, and programming to write applications.
- Ability to work with varied populations of Texas State personnel and community members.
- Ability to take direction from peers and members of the leadership team.

Terms of Employment
- Average of 20 hours worked per week (unless otherwise approved by supervisor)
- No paid vacation, sick leave, or university-observed holidays
Salary
- Monthly salary received at the beginning of each month.
- Average of $1,331.50/month.
