History Main Office Student Worker

DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY

JOB SUMMARY: The Student worker position is a part-time position responsible for supporting the main office with day-to-day administrative tasks, maintaining bulletin boards, and assisting with basic building upkeep. This role is open to students of all majors and is ideal for those seeking professional experience in an academic office setting. No history major required.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Greeting and assisting visitors in a professional and friendly manner
  • Answering phone calls and directing inquiries appropriately
  • Updating the Spotlight bulletin boards with provided materials in a timely manner
  • Helping maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming office environment
  • Supporting basic building upkeep as needed
  • Assisting with printing, copying, and scanning needs
  • Assisting faculty and staff with various office-related tasks

SUPERVISOR: Sydney Faust

WORK SCHEDULE: Flexible hours can work with student’s schedule. Students in this position are expected to work 10-15 hours per week.

  • Problem-solving skills
  • Reliable and punctual with the ability to manage time effectively
  • Attention to detail and complete tasks with accuracy and care
  • Work Study eligible is required

EMPLOYEE EVALUATION PROCESS: Student employees are evaluated by their supervisor at the end of each long semester.

PAYRATE DETERMINATION: Student employees in this position will start at $12/hour.
