Dog Bather and Groomer
Brand new Pet Resort opening in March.
We are looking for a skilled, animal-loving Dog Bather / Pet Groomer to join our team at our top-rated pet boarding and day care facility. If you have a passion for making dogs look and feel their best, enjoy hands-on pet care, and can handle a variety of breeds with patience and care, we'd love to have you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Bathe dogs using appropriate shampoos, conditioners, and techniques tailored to coat type and skin needs
- Thoroughly dry, brush, and de-shed coats to remove loose fur and prevent matting
- Perform basic grooming services including nail trimming/clipping/grinding, ear cleaning, eye cleaning, and sanitary trims
- Detangle and remove mats safely and humanely
- Monitor pets for skin issues, parasites, discomfort, or behavioral changes and report promptly
- Maintain a clean, sanitary grooming area, tools, tubs, and equipment
- Interact professionally with pet owners during consultations, drop-offs, and pick-ups to discuss services and preferences
- Assist with check-ins, scheduling, and light customer service as needed
Requirements:
- Genuine love and respect for dogs; comfortable handling all sizes, breeds, and temperaments
- Previous experience as a bather, groomer, or in pet grooming preferred (we're happy to train motivated beginners!)
- Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs, standing for extended periods, bending, and working in a wet environment
- Detail-oriented, patient, and able to work efficiently in a busy setting
- Reliable with flexible availability, including weekends and some holidays
