The Learning Spaces team is seeking a motivated and dependable student employee to assist in the day-to-day support, maintenance, and improvement of classrooms, labs, and collaborative learning environments across campus. This role provides valuable hands-on experience with technology, customer service, and higher education operations.

Duties include but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Assist with the setup, testing, and maintenance of classroom AV and computer equipment
  • Respond to and help resolve classroom technology support requests
  • Perform routine checks and inventory of equipment in general use and instructional spaces
  • Document support activities, incidents, and equipment changes
  • Support faculty, staff, and students with basic technology use
  • Help with classroom upgrades and installations during university breaks
  • Assist in the physical installation of audio/visual/presentation technologies and computer systems  
  • Assist in the configuration of audio-visual devices and control system equipment
  • Fabricate and install cables including Cat 6, Cat6a, SDI, Speaker, etc.
  • Fabricate and modify equipment racks
  • Other duties as assigned

You will be expected to work with minimal supervision, so we need motivated self-starters who can get the job done. 

  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Current Driver’s License and the ability to drive departmental vehicles
  • Maintain a professional appearance
  • Availability to work for multiple 2+ hour blocks, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday- Friday

Employee evaluation process: Employee are evaluated by the supervisor monthly.

Pay rate determination: All students employees begin at the starting pay rate and may have an increase after two long semesters (Fall and Spring) of employment with a positive evaluation from their supervisor.
