Product Engineering Intern - Summer 2026

This is a Summer 2026 internship position in the Product Engineering group under the Secure Connected Edge business line in NXP. Our group is responsible for qualifying and launching new production introductions of highly integrated, multi core microprocessors and microcontrollers.  Overall business goals are to ensure that the quality, cost, and schedule needs of our customers are met.

The Product Engineering position is a central role in the development of leading-edge new products and launching them into high volume manufacturing at entitlement costs with high quality and reliability.

Responsibilities:

  • New Product Introduction bring-up, including silicon debug, test time and yield optimization, data analysis, and generation of customer samples. 
  • Participate in cross functional teams worldwide through the NPI phase gates.
  • Qualify new products using JEDEC and AEC-Q100 industry standards. Support reliability hardware and software development.
  • Support characterization of integrated circuits on ATE or using bench measurements. Will be required to perform data analysis, present results, and generate reports.
  • Transfer product to offshore factories (internal and external).
  • Launch new products into high-volume production at entitlement costs with the highest levels of quality and reliability.

Job Qualifications:

  • Strong problem-solving skills in a team environment.
  • Must have good communication skills to effectively understand and simplify complex topics and work well with diverse cross functional teams.
  • Experience in software development (C/C++, Java, Perl, etc) is a plus.
  • Self-motivated individual.
  • Courses in Statistics would be helpful.
  • Knowledge of integrated circuits design and fabrication in CMOS technology is a plus.
  • Experience on an ATE platform (Teradyne or 93K) is a plus.
  • Currently pursuing BS or MS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
