Bobcat RISE Graduate Assistant
Bobcat RISE is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Bobcat to be our next Graduate Assistant!
Maximum 20 hours per week.
Direct Supervisor – Tamara Shetron, Bobcat RISE Program Director
Duties are typically as follows:

Teaching
- One Bobcat RISE Seminar class (assist or teach based on staffing needs).

Social and Academic Support
- Supervise study groups and assist with teaching study skills and assignment completion.
- Set office hours to support student academics (shared with other staff)
- Other duties as needed:
- Proctoring student exams in Bobcat RISE area
- Help/coach students in navigating social and academic situations that may arise (ex. communication with instructors, friendship situations, etc.)
- Help students to be engaged on/in campus life (student organizations/social opportunities).
- Serve as a peer mentor to our students and assist with group activities planned by our Independent Living Assistant (ILA) or other activities they might engage with (i.e. sporting events, hosting a group to see a play, etc.). Minimum 1 activity per month.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to support students with intellectual and developmental disabilities to grow and develop and gain voice through academic and social interactions. Training and support provided.
- Must be highly organized, able to use Canvas, Share Point, and other online management systems.
- Must work well as a team player as well as make independent decisions and manage time well.
This is an ideal position for someone who wants to have direct experience with diverse student populations, supports student growth and development for diverse student populations, and who would like teaching experience with diverse student populations (students with intellectual and developmental disabilities).
Preferred Majors include: Education, Special Education, Rec Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, Human Development Family Services or related majors.
