Spring 2026 Photo Intern

The Division of Marketing and Communications at Texas State University is seeking a Photo Intern to assist the photo and video team in producing and editing original images.
We are an agency-style marketing team with a focus on good work, high-quality lifestyle imagery, and a comfortable work/life balance. This role works in the Division of Marketing and Communications on projects that impact the university’s priority goals: promoting our research enterprise, supporting graduate and undergraduate enrollment, growing our Round Rock Campus, and building brand awareness.
This is an in-office, on-campus position.
What you would do: As a photo intern, you would be assisting the photo team and designers with external and internal photo requests.
Hours: Interns may work a maximum of 25 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Edit and organize photos using Adobe Creative Suite
- Assist with coverage of athletic events
- Assist with lifestyle photography on campus
- Cover a range of campus events
- Help upload, organize, label, and prepare images for delivery and archiving using the digital asset management tool; Canto.
Ideal Candidate:
- Current Texas State University student
- Some experience in event photography or visual storytelling
- Availability for occasional evenings and weekends
- Interest in journalism, digital media, or photography
Direct Supervisor
This role is managed by the Associate Director of Photo and Video.
Time tracking and HR processes are supported by the division’s administrative staff.
Employee Evaluation Process
Applicants will go through a standard interview process with the photo staff.
Once employed, interns will receive regular check-ins about goals and deliverables, followed by a final evaluation at the end of the semester or academic year.

Pay Rate Determination
Pay rate is determined by the division’s available funding and the candidate’s relevant experience. Work-study students are welcome to apply.
