Work Study Student Assistant (2 Positions Available)

We are seeking two motivated and detail-oriented work study students to assist with a variety of general administrative and project-based tasks. These positions offer the opportunity to gain valuable work experience while supporting the office with routine tasks and creative projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hardware and software support and support responding to, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues.
  • Proofread and fact-check content for the website and other ongoing projects to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Assist with special projects, such as social media management, multimedia content creation, and promotional campaigns.
  • Collaborate with team members on tasks related to communication, marketing, and office initiatives.
  • Provide general administrative support including filing, data entry, and other office duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned based on departmental needs and student interests.

 

Qualifications:

  • Current student eligible for work study.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in proofreading and fact-checking.
  • Interest in social media, marketing, and multimedia content creation is a plus.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and balance multiple tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with common office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).

 

Direct Supervisor: 

  • Dr. Aimee Roundtree

 

Employee Evaluation Process:

  • Student employees are evaluated by their supervisor at the end of each long semester.

 

Payrate Determination: 

  • Hourly rate will be determined based on the applicant's skills and experience but will not be lower than the minimum wage rate of $7.25. Hourly student employees will be eligible for a raise after two long semesters (fall and spring) of employment with a positive evaluation from their supervisor.
