Tutors wanted for all subjects currently being taught at Texas State University. Tutors will work closely with tutee one-on-one remotely and virtually to help them understand the material and subjects that they are having problems with. Starting wages are $15.00/hr and up with raises available throughout the semester. A tutor can work with multiple tutees in multiple subjects. This is a personalized service for students that are having trouble understanding their class work. Students must have a strong character, must be dependable , reliable and foremost an honest individual. Tutors must possess a passion for helping students learn and have the knowledge and skills to help students find new ways to look at difficult skills and concepts. 

As a tutor, you must have patience, as many students you work with will have trouble understanding the content you are trying to help them with. You must also have a positive attitude and know ways to motivate students when they become frustrated by material they do not understand.  As a tutor, your main responsibility is to help students learn, reviewing content with them, explaining how to solve problems and checking completed work. A tutor may also help students develop study skills and organization techniques to help improve their academic performance. This may be done in a one-on-one setting. Tutors must often keep reports on students and share those reports with supervisors. In addition to the academic component, tutors are responsible being a role model and upholding the University Student Conduct and Academic Integrity.
