Social Media Intern

The Texas Cultural Trust Mission

The Texas Cultural Trust is a 501c (3) non-profit organization whose mission is to be the leading voice of the arts in education, advocacy, and economic impact in Texas, spotlighting the artistic excellence of our state. We have various programs, events, and initiatives that help us to carry out our mission, including Art Can, Texas Young Masters, Texas Medal of Arts Awards, Texas Women for the Arts, Partners in the Arts, and Arts Access.

Summary

The Texas Cultural Trust is looking for a social media intern to support the work of the Texas Cultural Trust. This internship offers hands-on experience in social media marketing within a mission-driven organization.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with Communications Manager to create and post weekly social media stories on different platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, etc.).
  • Respond to comments and DMs on social media platforms.
  • Assist with graphic design tasks such as creating social media graphics and visuals using graphic design software (Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, etc.).
  • Edit videos for social media platforms using video editing software.
  • Help create and edit Instagram Reels.
  • Save tagged posts and stories.
  • Stay current with social media trends and contribute creative ideas.

Required skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of digital marketing platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, and LinkedIn.
  • Experience with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Strict confidentiality in dealing with donor information.

Compensation, Hours and Location:

The Trust will accommodate intern hours to prioritize school. However, interns must make a commitment of a minimum of 10 hours a week, with the opportunity of additional hours around special projects and/or events. This internship pays $12 per hour, parking is included. The Texas Cultural Trust is currently located at Bee Caves and Mopac.
