Marketing Assistant (Student Worker)

Health Promotion Services -  University Health Services

Hours per Week: 20-25 (flexible with your course schedule and with remote options)

Wage: $12 per hour

Job Description: Student Marketing Assistant will assist and support the implementation of a marketing plan for Health Promotion Services. The position works on a team with Health Promotion Services (HPS) and the Student Health Center (SHC) Marketing Department. 

 Job Duties:

As the Student Marketing Assistant, you will be responsible for creating, updating and implementing marketing tools and materials for Health Promotion Services. This position will collaborate with peer educators, HPS staff and the SHC Marketing Department. Tasks will be assigned by the Assistant Director of HPS.

  • Develop, revise and update marketing tools to promote services including the website, print material, social media, videos and giveaways.
  • Develop marketing materials to support both peer education programs (Students Against Violence and Healthy Cats) weekly meetings, presentations, educational campaigns and campus outreach events.
  • Attend HPS staff meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Student Health Center Marketing Department.
  • Assist in outreach events and weekly peer education meetings (may include some weekend or evening hours with advance notice) for HPS, Healthy Cats, SAV and the Student Health Center.
  • Follow and learn university marketing standards and guidelines
  • Undertake administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the organization’s activities

 Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Minimum 2.75 GPA
  • Must maintain enrollment in at least 6 semester credit hours
  • Must be available to work during summer break

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Students majoring in Mass Communication, Marketing, Communication Design or related field
  • Professional/educational experience in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Illustrator, and Premiere)
  • Experience with creating and maintaining website designs and social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Google+)
  • Experience creating marketing materials
