Student Support Services | Fall25 Work Study

Position is contracted for the 2025 – 2026 academic year. Continuation of this position is contingent upon funding.

Reports to the Student Support Services Traditional/STEM Director. 

The student worker will provide general office support in a student-centered environment. Responsibilities include performing administrative tasks, assisting with customer service, and supporting daily office operations in a professional and welcoming setting.

Duties

  • Greet and assist students, staff, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
  • Answer phones, take messages, and direct calls as needed
  • Schedule appointments and assist with calendar management
  • Maintain the front desk area and ensure materials are well-stocked and organized
  • Assist with data entry, filing, scanning, and organizing confidential documents
  • Help prepare and distribute outreach materials, flyers, and event announcements
  • Support SSS Traditional events and workshops by assisting with setup, sign-ins, and clean-up
  • Monitor and restock office supplies as needed
  • Run errands on campus (e.g., delivering documents to other departments)
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and sensitive information at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support office operations

On Campus Job Location- NA Offsite

  • Student Support Services Office- Sterry Hall 1st Floor

Supervision

  • Director, Student Support Services Traditional/STEM

Work Schedule 

  • Flexible hours between [Office Hours, e.g., Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM], based on class schedule and availability. Up to [10–20] hours per week, depending on FWS award and office needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be eligible for the Federal Work-Study Program (FAFSA must be on file)
  • Current student in good academic standing
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior customer service or office experience (including volunteer work) 1-2 years

Employee Evaluation Process 

  • Weekly and monthly (informal)
  • End of each Semester (formal) facilitated by Student Support Services Traditional/STEM Director.
