Department: The Edwards Aquifer Research and Data Center on the Texas State University campus has a research center, an active water testing laboratory, and an education center. Our Education Center seeks to improve the public understanding of the aquifer through the development, dissemination, and implementation of educational materials and programs. 

Job Summary: The EARDC education assistant is a part-time student work-study position responsible for assisting with education programming, equipment upkeep, and marketing of the EARDC education program.

Job Duties: 

  • Manage social media accounts and creation of posts. 
  • Develop marketing materials for educational programs 
  • Assist with Aquatic Science Adventure Camp planning and development 
  • Assist with Aquatic Field Days with the possibility of leading dependent on comfort and availability. 
  • Equipment upkeep and repair 
  • Assist with prep and execution of water sampling 
  • Other duties as assigned 

On-Campus Job Location: Freeman Aquatic Biology Building, RM 226  

Supervisor: Kellie Donajkowski 

Work Schedule: Students in this position are expected to work between 10-15 hours per week. Available shifts; Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm only 

Qualifications: 

  • awarded student work study 
  • Preferred: has worked with children or youth programs before 

Employee Evaluation Process: Students are evaluated by their supervisor at the mid-semester and end of semester. 

Pay rate Determination: All students begin at the starting pay rate listed on this posting. Pay may be increased based on experience and evaluations.
