FALL 2025 | Work Study Student Worker / Office Assistant
The Department of Organization, Workforce, and Leadership Studies (OWLS) is seeking a dependable and motivated Work Study Student Worker/Student Office Assistant eager to gain work experience in an office setting. The student must be comfortable working in a professional, diverse setting and have an understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Front Office Support: Provide essential coverage of the OWLS Main Office including opening and closing duties. Responsibilities include greeting and assisting visitors, answering and transferring phone calls, taking accurate messages, and responding to basic program inquiries (following training).

Administrative Tasks:
- Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams for general administrative functions
- Make copies and scan documents using standard office equipment
- Shredding
- Organize files, sort materials, create labels, and maintain the student worker calendar in Teams
- Deliver documents to other campus offices as needed

Marketing & Communications Support:
- Prepare and organize promotional items and materials for departmental events

Inventory & Office Management:
- Monitor and restock kitchen and office supplies
- Help manage inventory and maintain orderly supply areas

Additional Duties:
- Support department faculty and staff with special projects and other assigned tasks
Work Schedule:
- During the academic year: Students in this position are expected to work between 10-16 hours per week.
- Additionally, applicants must be able to work between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications:
- Dependable and punctual with strong communication skills
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Teams
- Willingness to learn new tools and systems
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist where needed
- Great customer service skills

**Must be approved for Work Study funding; possibility of continuing in this position during future semesters if Work Study funds are awarded**
Employee Evaluation Process: Student employees are evaluated by their supervisor at the end of each long semester.
Starting Pay-rate: All student employees will now begin at the starting pay rate of $9.00/hour and may increase by .25 after two long semesters (fall and spring) of employment with a positive evaluation from their supervisor using the Student Employee Readiness Evaluation form.
